Prevention is the best protection.
Fire protection shouldn't be the thing that fails you on inspection day. Most business owners discover gaps in their coverage only when a code officer walks in. Or worse, when an alarm doesn't sound.
Boss Fire was founded in 2015 on a simple promise. Every piece of equipment we certify will work when it matters. That means NFPA-trained technicians on every job, tagged and dated certification on every unit, and a single point of contact for your entire life-safety stack.
From a single fire extinguisher at a convenience store to a 40-location national kitchen rollout. The standard doesn't change. Just the scale.

Questions business owners actually ask.
Still stuck? Call Boss Fire direct at 905-519-BOSS. We'll answer on the first ring.
How often do commercial fire extinguishers need to be inspected in Ontario? +
Under NFPA 10, portable fire extinguishers in commercial buildings require a monthly visual inspection by the property owner or designee, plus a full annual inspection and certification by a qualified technician. Every 6 years they require internal maintenance, and every 12 years they require hydrostatic testing.
Boss Fire handles the annual, 6-year, and 12-year requirements. We'll also set up automatic reminders so you never miss a cycle.
What does NFPA-certified mean, and why does it matter? +
NFPA stands for the National Fire Protection Association. This is the body that publishes the codes and standards governing fire safety in North America. An NFPA-certified technician has been trained and tested to the NFPA's standards for inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire protection equipment.
It matters because insurance carriers, fire marshals, and property managers rely on NFPA certification as the baseline for compliance. Non-certified work can void insurance coverage and fail inspections, even if the equipment itself is fine.
Does Boss Fire offer same-day service? +
Yes. Same-day service is available for fire extinguisher inspections, recharges, and replacements across the GTA. Call 905-519-BOSS for urgent requests. That includes failed inspections, sprinkler emergencies, and pre-inspection scrambles.
What types of businesses does Boss Fire serve? +
Boss Fire exclusively serves commercial and industrial properties. That includes restaurants, retail, convenience stores, offices, warehouses, manufacturing, and multi-location national chains. We do not service residential homes.
Our smallest clients are single-unit convenience stores. Our largest are national brands with 40+ Canadian locations managed under one contract through our National Accounts program.
What fire protection does my commercial kitchen need? +
At minimum, a commercial kitchen in Canada needs four things. First, a wet-chemical K-Class suppression system over cooking equipment, inspected twice yearly under NFPA 96. Second, portable K-Class fire extinguishers. Third, a working fire alarm. Fourth, emergency lighting and exit signs.
Boss Fire installs, inspects, and maintains every component, so you don't need three separate vendors to stay code-compliant and insurable.
How much does a fire extinguisher inspection cost? +
Pricing depends on the number of units, extinguisher types, and location. That said, routine annual inspections are one of the most affordable services in your compliance stack. Far less than the cost of a failed inspection, fine, or insurance dispute.
